Asghar Farhadi’s Everybody Knows IFFK Opening Film




Spanish psychological thriller ‘Everybody Knows’ by acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi’s will be screened at the 23rd edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).

The film opened the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and the screening at IFFK will be its Indian Premiere. The cinematography has been handled by Jose Luis Alcaine and the cast includes Oscar award winning actors Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz. The plot revolves around a woman and her children, whose trip gets twisted due to unforeseen events, revealing untold truths.

Farhadi, the two time Best Foreign Language Film Oscar Award winning filmmaker and screenwriter, has had his films screened multiple times at the IFFK, and is a favourite among the cinephiles at the festival. He received the Golden Crow Pheasant for Best Film for ‘About Elly’ at the 2009 IFFK. His Oscar Award winning films ‘A Separation’ and ‘The Salesman’ were screened at the 2011 and 2016 IFFK respectively.
‘Everybody Knows’ premiered at the Cannes and was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Ray and Bergman biggest inspirations: Bahman Farmanara
