IFFK to screen Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum

Famed Vasanth S Sai’s Tamil anthology film ‘Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum’ will be screened at the 23^rd International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).

Parvathy Thiruvoth, along with Kalieswari Sreenivasan and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, portray the prominent roles in the film. It interlaces three female-centric short stories written by Jeyamohan, Adhavan, and Ashokamitran.

The film depicts the casual sexism and entrenched misogyny in the life of women. It is a tale of three women and their awakenings to identity, space, and self-worth, unfolding across three different time periods. It notably has no music score, and in many phases, silence has been used effectively to represent the isolation and separation in a woman’s life.

The film will be screened under the ‘Indian Cinema Now’ category.

IFFK Closing Ceremony Today (Dec 13)

The 23 rd edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala, after a week of film-viewing experience, will come to an end today (Dec 13) evening. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Closing Ceremony in Nishagandhi Auditorium at 6 PM. A K Balan, Minister for Welfare for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, Law, Culture and Parliamentary Affairs, will preside over the ceremony. V S Sunil Kumar, Minister for Agriculture will be the Chief Guest. A K Balan will distribute the Media Awards.
