Famed
Vasanth S Sai’s Tamil anthology film ‘Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum’ will
be screened at the 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala
(IFFK).
Parvathy
Thiruvoth, along with Kalieswari Sreenivasan and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli,
portray the prominent roles in the film. It interlaces three female-centric
short stories written by Jeyamohan, Adhavan, and Ashokamitran.
The
film depicts the casual sexism and entrenched misogyny in the life of women. It
is a tale of three women and their awakenings to identity, space, and
self-worth, unfolding across three different time periods. It notably has no
music score, and in many phases, silence has been used effectively to represent
the isolation and separation in a woman’s life.
The
film will be screened under the ‘Indian Cinema Now’ category.
