Six
films directed by versatile Malayalam filmmaker Lenin Rajendran will be
screened at the 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
The
‘Lenin Rajendran: Chronicler of Our Times’ package at the IFFK will feature
Rajendran's ‘Meenamasathile Sooryan’ which tables the anti-feudal upheavals of
the 1940s and ‘Swathi Thirunal’ based on the story of the 19th century
Travancore King. ‘Daivathinte Vikrithikal’, the recipient of 1992 Kerala
State Film Award for Best Film, 'Chillu’ which depicts fragile relationships in
life and a murder mystery, ‘Mazha’ based on the Madhavikkutty short story
‘Nashtappetta Neelambari’, and ‘Vachanam’ are the other films included in the
package.
His
films are widely regarded for their portrayal of the contemporary
socio-political scenarios.
