Fourteen films from across the globe, showcasing the nuances of life from all shades and walks will be screened at the 23rd edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
In the
International Competition category five of the films will have their Asian
premieres, while two their Indian premieres at the festival.
Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Ee.Ma.Yau’ and Zakariya’s ‘Sudani From Nigeria’ are the Malayalam films in the Competition section. Anamika Haksar’s Hindi film ‘Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Le Ja Riya Hoon’ and Praveen Morchhale’s ‘Widow of Silence’ are the other Indian films.
Tashi Gyeltshen’s ‘The Red Phallus’, Luis Ortega’s ‘El Angel’, Ahmed Fawzi Saleh’s ‘Poisonous Roses’, Rouhollah Hejazi’s ‘Dark Room’, Vuslat Saracoglu’s ‘Debt’, Temirbek Birnazarov’s ‘Night Accident’, Mostafa Sayyari’s ‘The Graveless’, Beatriz Seigner’s ‘The Silence’, Bahman Farmanara’s ‘Tale of the Sea’, and Monica Lairana’s ‘The Bed’ are the other films in the competition category.
