Nishagandhi witnessed a house-full audience for ‘Tumbbad’,
the Midnight Screening of the 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala
(IFFK). The history period fantasy horror film, is the first Indian film to be
screened under the category. The film was well received by the crowd and
got great applause.
The 2018 film directed by Rahi Anil Barve and Adesh Prasad, brought to screen the chronicle of the greedy and gluttonous son of the Goddess of Prosperity, Hastar, and how a family, generation after generation, ends up in an abysmal chasm of greed. The film which has Anand Gandhi as the co-writer, executive producer, and creative director, gained critical acclaim for being the kind of horror flick that plays with the viewers’ mind, along with having its moments of blood and gore.
Last year, ‘Satan’s Slaves’ by Joko Anwar had screened under the category.
