IFFK Closing Ceremony Today (Dec 13)


The 23rd edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala, after a week of film-viewing experience, will come to an end today (Dec 13) evening. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Closing Ceremony in Nishagandhi Auditorium at 6 PM. A K Balan, Minister for Welfare for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, Law, Culture and Parliamentary Affairs, will preside over the ceremony. V S Sunil Kumar, Minister for Agriculture will be the Chief Guest. A K Balan will distribute the Media Awards. V S Sivakumar MLA, Kamal, Chairman, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, Bina Paul, Vice Chairperson, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, Mahesh Panju, Secretary, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, will participate in the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, the winner of the award for the best film in International Competition will be screened. The FFSI K R Mohanan Endowment for the Best Debut Director from India, has also been incepted this year. Indian films including the ones in International Competition, will be eligible for the award.
14 films from Asia, Africa, and Latin America, are in the International Competition of the fete. Of the four Indian films in the competition for the Golden Crow Pheasant, the Malayalam films are Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Ee.Ma.Yau’, and Zakariya’s ‘Sudani From Nigeria’.

ജൂറി വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ 4 ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍

'ഡാര്‍ക്ക് ഈസ് ദ നൈറ്റ്' ന്റെ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആദ്യ പ്രദര്‍ശനം ടൊറന്റോ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ചലച്ചിത്രമേളയില്‍ പ്രേക്ഷക പ്രശംസ നേടിയ 'ഡാര്‍ക്ക് ഈസ് ദ നൈറ്റ്' ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 4 ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ ജൂറി വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കും.ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആദ്യ പ്രദര്‍ശനമാകും മേളയില്‍ നടക്കുക. സബ്‌സിഡികള്‍ നിര്‍ത്തലാക്കുന്നത് കലാമൂല്യമുള്ള ചിത്രങ്ങളെ ബാധിക്കുന്നതായി മോനിക്ക ലൈറാന

ലോകത്തെ പല രാജ്യങ്ങളും സബ്‌സിഡി നിര്‍ത്തലാക്കുന്നത് കലാമൂല്യമുള്ള ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ നിര്‍മ്മാണത്തെ പ്രതികൂലമായി ബാധിക്കുന്നതായി അര്‍ജന്റീനിയന്‍ സംവിധായിക മോനിക്ക ലൈറാന. അര്‍ജന്റീനയില്‍ ഫിലിം ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടുകള്‍ നല്‍കുന്ന സബ്‌സിഡി തുക സംവിധായകരില്‍ നിന്ന് തിരിച്ചുപിടിക്കുകയാണ്. ലോകത്തെ പല രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെയും സാമ്പത്തിക പ്രതിസന്ധി സിനിമാലോകത്തേയും ബാധിക്കുന്നതായാണ് ഇത് തെളിയിക്കുന്നതെന്നും അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. രാജ്യാന്തര ചലച്ചിത്രമേളയോട് അനുബന്ധിച്ച് മീറ്റ് ദി ഡയറക്ടറര്‍ പരിപാടിയില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അവര്‍. പൊതുസമൂഹത്തിന് പരിചിതമല്ലാത്ത ലക്ഷദ്വീപിലെ ഭാഷയായ ജസരിയെ ലോകത്തിന് മുന്നില്‍ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുകയെന്ന പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് സിന്‍ജാര്‍ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചതെന്ന് സംവിധായകന്‍ പാമ്പള്ളി പറഞ്ഞു. നിര്‍മ്മാതാവിന്റെ ആശയമനുസരിച്ചാണ്ജസരി ഭാഷയില്‍ ചിത്രീകരണത്തിന് തയ്യാറായതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം വ്യക്തമാക്കി. എല്‍ എയ്ഞ്ചല്‍ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ നിര്‍മ്മാതാവ് മൗറീന്‍ ഫെര്‍ണാണ്ടസ്, പി.കെ. ബിജുക്കുട്ടന്‍, മീരാസാഹിബ് തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
