Indian Premiere of Venice Film Festival award winner The Announcement at the IFFK




A dark comedy which won accolades at the 75th Venice International Film Festival is slated for its Indian premiere at the 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
'The Announcement' by Turkish director Mahmut Fazil Coskun which won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice fest will be screened under the World Cinema category.
One of the most noted and acclaimed fests at the festival, 'The Announcement' is a blend of political history, humor, drama, and violence in an impressive hybrid. The film portrays with style, the political scenario of the present and the past of Turkey, and intertwines moments of humor, walking along the thin ridge that separates comedy and tragedy. The noir styled presentation, of what is a tale of a military coup and a journey of a handful of men in 1963 Istanbul trying to get to the radio stations to announce a successful coup in Ankara. 
The film will be screened on December 7 at 11.30 AM at the Tagore theatre.

Ray and Bergman biggest inspirations: Bahman Farmanara
